There is no question to this characteristic, 1080p resolution produces the brighter, sharper, more detailed, and better quality image than 720p.

(And, it's much easier to display a few lines of black pixels around a slide on a 1280x800 display than to cut off content to fit to a 720p or 1080p display.)
