I chose to go to the Elm Lake area and take the Elm Lake Loop Trail. The perfect day for my walkabout too! Brazos Bend State Park. Finding Brazos Bend, it took maybe 45 minutes or so to drive there. There’s a small entrance fee and it was a popular park. You could also take State Highway 288 south to FM 1462 west. Join the Brazos Bend State Park group! A kayaking trip in the Rio Grande is sure to boast incredible views of the area, from jaw dropping canyons to desert mountain scenes.
